Student Calligraphy
Students enrolled in W&L's Beginning through Advanced Japanese language classes were asked to select an Aida Mitsuo phrase. Most students selected phrases that they found personally meaningful.
In a calligraphy workshop they learned the basics of writing with a brush. Students could imitate the writing style of Aida or develop their own unique calligraphy style. Each student memorized their chosen phrase and produced a final “masterpiece” for this exhibition.
